Before You Go Korea is a practical guide to Korea for people who don't read Korean.

I grew up in Korea. I also lived abroad for several years, so I know which parts feel confusing from the outside. The information you need is often there. It is just written in Korean, spread across government sites, or buried in apps that want a Korean phone number.

• Hike — trails, reservations, and closing times for Korea's mountains. I hike a couple of times a month.
• Events — festivals and seasonal things, with dates, crowds, and how to get there.
• Move — trains, buses, taxis, and transport cards.
• Book It — how to reserve things that normally need Korean.
• Eat and Shop — what to order, what to buy, and what it costs.

How I check things

Every post shows the date I last checked it. I read the official Korean sources first: park services, city governments, and operators. When a number comes from a news report or when I could not confirm something, I say so in the post.

Prices, hours, and rules in Korea change often. If you find something out of date, please tell me and I will fix it.
